1-on-1 Coaching

“Mark, I just want to say how much I appreciate these sessions with you. I don’t know exactly what they are—whether it’s coaching, counselling, or something else. What I do know, and Carl Rogers said it best, is that when you listen, I start to understand myself; the ‘insoluble becomes soluble’. It’s a superpower—the way you listen without judgement, how you explore what is present rather than following an agenda. These sessions are joyous, impactful, and seemingly important. For all of this, I thank you.”

I usually work with individual clients who have already done inner work—many have seen a therapist at some point, explored mindfulness techniques, read widely, achieved things, built a family, a home. Yet, they are still accompanied by a quiet despair.

Their lives are not in disarray, yet there remains an impatience, a sense that there is always more—somewhere to get to. Perhaps a feeling that the moments, things, or relationships in their lives don’t taste quite as they expected or once did.

I sense that I help people see and feel more deeply again in order to help bring a sense of meaning once more. To slow down. Maybe even to laugh at this predicament of life we find ourselves in.

Whether through my podcast, silent conversations, LinkedIn posts, or corporate work, I show up much the same way I do when coaching—with a consistent inquiry into what is here, right now. I listen closely, I pay attention, and my questions emerge from that. I notice things that often go unnoticed.

I don’t mean to be vague, but that’s how I see it. I usually begin with a 90-minute session, followed by 60–75 minutes thereafter. I don’t require block bookings—it’s a pay-as-you-go model, whenever the client wishes, subject to my availability.

I am always a little reticent to claim what this is or what it will do, as I don’t see life that way—and if I did, I sense it would take away from how I work. And yet, when I receive messages like this from clients, it doesn’t surprise me—I feel it too. I experience the quality of these engagements just as my clients do.

I help people sit with whatever is, come into acceptance with it, and see with far greater clarity. From there, we explore. That is a powerful place from which to contemplate and consider alternative horizons that help bring meaning, contentment, and inner stillness.

If any of this resonates with you and you’re curious about what a conversation together might reveal, send me a message.
